Triple D Game Farm

October 9, 2009 by Corinna Stoeffl Leave a Comment

_DSC4325A number of my animal shots were taken at the Triple D Game Farm (currently all Cougar, Fox, Tiger, Canadian Lynx and Tundra Wolf). When I looked online, most places I found have photography as a side business and primarily cater to hunters. Triple D caters to artists – photography, painting, sculpting and film

I was really impressed with their way of handling the animals. There is much respect and love for them evident. The animals are not trained to perform tricks. On a shoot location, which is usually away from the home base, the animals are asked to move from one location to the next through the use of treats. Also the length of a shooting session is not a predetermined time, but determined by the animal. Triple D is a place I plan to eventually go back to for a winter shoot.

As a service to their clients, they also organize a horse round up several times during the year at local ranches. They take care of all the model release forms in a very efficient manner. Then, they support a local raptor rehabilitation place by organizing  a raptor shoot for the owner. The birds available for photography are the ones that can no longer be released back into the wild anymore.
